About Paws in Motion
Hi. I'm Christine Mitten. I was born into a family of devoted animal lovers. From the very beginning our pet dogs and cats have always held a significant role in my life. When I was young, our dog Jake was my steadfast friend; allowing me to dress him up, lead him through obstacle courses and drag him around the neighbourhood.
By the time we got our second dog, Harley, I was older and could see the new puppy as being more than another playmate. I began taking initiative in caring for Harley, learning how to responsibly walk, feed and train him.
Our third dog Wyatt is a handful. Unlike any of our other pets, Wyatt did an excellent job of teaching me the lesson of patience and compassion (because he could be so frustrating at times!). It wasn’t until I moved away to university, and for the first time in my life was animal-less, that I realized how much joy, love and amusement our family pets contributed to my life.
Upon graduating from the University of Victoria I felt hesitant and uninspired to take a job in the corporate world. I took some time off and headed on a backpacking trip across South East Asia. After returning back home, to a life filled with animals, it became obvious what kind of career to pursue. Starting a dog walking and pet service business integrates my passion for animals and my love of being outdoors in nature.
I truly love dogs. I am an experienced volunteer dog walker at the SPCA, and have worked with hundreds of challenging dogs. I also have a certification in pet First Aid.
I am optimistic, passionate, responsible and 100% reliable. As a dog owner and lover I understand how important it is to hire someone who is caring, patient, trustworthy and professional to look after your most cherished companions.
With this commitment towards exceptional service for Vancouverites and their canine pals, Paws In Motion was born.
